Posted September 02, 2019 09:20:50 More than a week after the devastating fire that engulfed a house in the Brisbane suburb of Elmo, the ABC has obtained footage of firefighters celebrating the return of the Elmo Firetv Stick on Friday night.
Firefighters had been on the scene for a few hours when the blaze broke out and engulfed the home on Sunday night.
The fire destroyed the property, and it was feared the house had been destroyed by the fire.
The fire was brought under control on Monday morning and firefighters returned to their home in the town of Elmore at about 8.30pm, just as the night had started.
“It was a very, very quiet night,” one of the firefighters, who asked not to be named, told the ABC.
At the time, the fire service said it was fortunate that the fire was contained within the home.
It is believed that no one was inside the house at the time of the fire, and fire crews were unable to enter the building to save the life of a resident who was trapped in the attic, where the blaze was spreading.
